Your Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD) is excited to share that the LAFD.org website, including the LAFD News and Information, and LAFD ALERT web pages are being updated and redesigned.

In early September the first phase of our online content will launch. There will be an entire re-design of the websites bringing them into compliance with the Federal Government’s Section 508  regulations regarding individuals with disabilities.

The new online content is a collaborative effort between web design firm Lightray and multiple LAFD Sections (Administrative Operations, MIS, Community Liaison Unit, Fire Prevention Bureau, and the Training and Support Bureau). We thank the Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation for providing generous financial support for this project.

This redesign will provide the LAFD with a new public web presence, showcasing the latest technology, and a user-friendly design and interface, which will allow visitors to quickly and easily navigate the site to find important information about the Department. The site will be easily readable on all types of devices, including computers, tablets and mobile phones.

It is important to note that the new websites will continually evolve as additional features are added and content is updated. During this period, some of our legacy content may be unavailable.

We thank you for your patience as this long-needed project gets underway and we look forward to your feedback once our online content goes live.
