'Hope For Firefighters'...think of it as 'Taste of the Firehouse'...and More!

Monday, June 04, 2012 |

It is quite possibly the largest event of its kind in North America. It happens only once a year. It's tasty food and good tunes. It's fun and frolicking in the sun, on the streets of downtown Los Angeles. And it's for a great cause.

We are proud to announce, the 2012 version and the 15th Annual Hope For Firefighters...and you don't want to miss it!
Thursday, June 7, 2012:  11:30 am - 2:30 pm
Hope Street, between 3rd Street and Hope Place
in Downtown Los Angeles

Fire Stations from all over the City will team-up with local business sponsors to compete for your palette. Each team, at each food-booth will present a "Firehouse Favorite", prepared and served by the men and women of the LAFD. A new LAFD Culinary Champion will be crowned! (Serious bragging rights!)

Don't mind the sirens, the screaming and the water flowing in the background.... that will be the teams from these local businesses laughing and having a great time, as they compete in the "Firefighter Muster Games". This year's event will feature the Bucket Brigade, the Firefighter Suit-Up Competition and an Old-Fashion Hose-Pulling Contest. Prizes and trophies will be awarded to the top performers.

LAFD merchandise sales, a silent and live auction with some "priceless" gifts and opportunities, a great raffle, as well as food sales and sponsorships will all benefit the Los Angeles Firemen's Relief Association's - Widows, Orphans and Disabled Firemen's Fund.

It truly is a great atmosphere and might be one of the City's best kept secrets. So, we encourage you to bring the whole family and tell a friend...or two! All are welcome! Admission to the venue is free! Did we mention also, that it falls on a weekday... which makes it a great excuse to get out of the office!

We HOPE to count on your attendance, as a show of support for your LAFD and their families in need!

And don't forget the sunscreen or your cameras!
