Every minute in the United States, an ambulance gets turned away from an emergency room because hospitals are simply too full. In Los Angeles, where patient and paramedic wait times can span the day and night, the system is being challenged in ways that may alarm you:
FIRESTORM is a feature-length documentary that examines the health care crisis through the prism of the Los Angeles Fire Department. With resources strained, and 9-1-1 being used for everything from heart attacks to itchy feet, LAFD Paramedics are often heard to ask: Who Will Rescue The Rescuers?

Thank you for posting this movie trailer. I happen to be crazy in love with an LAFD paramedic who has 30+ years now, and consider him my own personal hero. Firestorm will be a MUST SEE for us. I may have to see it twice to catch what I miss, as he most likely will be pointing out whom he knows and has worked with, and the inevitable stories that follow.
How cool is that?
It isn't a documentary yet. It will be out later in the year. Nice promo, however.

@ Tru,
With 30+ years on the job, the object of your affection would be considered a first or second generation provider of prehospital advanced care. We therefore congratulate him and salute you for helping daily to Rescue The Rescuer.
@Anonymous 4:05,
Thanks for the note. Please know we took the phrase 'documentary' verbatim from the YouTube posting for this video, and look forward to seeing the final product.
@Anonymous 6:56,
As this is not an official LAFD production, we join you in suggesting anyone with additional interest visit: www.talkingeyesmedia.org

Greetings. Sounds great but site only says "FIRESTORM coming soon..." so I couldn't watch. I have long advocated we better educate the public about when EMS is NOT appropriate, like the U.K. ads comparing taxi drivers and EMS on public billboards.
Shaun,
Thanks for the note. We are pleased to direct your issue to the LAFD Professional Standards Division. You can find their contact information here:
