We've been evacuated. How will we know when we can go back to our homes? Will you post something on this site?

What streets in the Oakridge mobile homes have been affected by fire?

Being in Zone #2, I am curious as to when I should evac. I am in an area that has no fuel left to burn, and in the middle of a LOT of houses. The smoke IS quite smelly, so evac for health reasons is understandable - perhaps AFTER my parakeets die....

If all the FF's are at this blaze, I kinda want to be at my house to prevent sparks from igniting my neighborhood in the winds....

Is there a shelter in place plan for area #2, or is it under mandatory evac?

Thanks

Dear Friends,

Ron Myers is on duty and doing his level best to assist traditional media from all over the world, as well as posting updates to the blog whenever possible.

Yes, there is sadly only one person on duty at time in our office - to serve a City of 4 million by answering media phone calls and posting to the blog, twitter, etc.

As such - and despite our desire, timely replies to personal *on-line* inquiries cannot be guaranteed
.

Though I am off-duty and distant from Los Angeles attending to personal matters, I wanted to let you know that news radio remains your best source of information while mobile in Los Angeles.

Ron will continue his superb work throughout his 24-hour tour of duty to bring radio, television, print and internet journalists locally and worldwide, the best possible information. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Respectfully Yours in Safety and Service,

Brian Humphrey

I woke up from the smoke (live off Westbury and Balboa) at 5:00 am. Heavy smoke, flying ash. I could hear lafd choppers announcing mandatory evacs just north of us. Loaded up the dogs and a few important things, and left after waking the neighbors and telling them to get out. I could see the glow of flames to the north, not far. Crazy way to wake up.

I live@ Balboa/Lassen and could not breathe when I left my house this morning to go to work. Is there a possibility we will have to evac. for inhalation reasons? Also there are a lot of large Pine trees in my area is there a chance of embers sparking a new fire?

I live at Footfill & Dronfield Place & the fire storm came upon us like something I've never seen before. We grabbed the kids & the dogs & left everything else behind. From what we had seen, it's obvious to me that homes in my area were definatly lost. How can we find out if our home has been destroyed or not?

I live at the top Dyer right next to the park and had to leave late Friday night. My eight year old son was very scared becuase we could see flames fromour front yard.

I know everyone is still working so hard to get these fires out but I wanted to just say thank you for everything you are doing and all of your efforts.

We are south of Sesnon at Jolette & Meadowlark - are we able to go home?

How will we know when we can go home in ZONE 2? Will it be posted here?

It concerns me that only one person would be on duty.

When will people be able to return to their homes at the Oakridge Mobile home park? My mother lost her home and we want to get in there as soon as possible.
