Dear LAFD,

There were several short blurbs in the media regarding lights over LA. that was explained as meteor showers. We thought you might me interested to read this story regarding the phenomenon of earthquake lights. It is a possibility that should be considered. Your comments would be greatly appreciated.

Apocolypse Times,

Though off-topic for this thread, please allow me to respond to your note in the interest of being helpful.

After publicly affirming that there were no wildfires, my interviews with news agencies, stressed that our Fire Department could not say for *certain* what other people at remote locations were seeing, but that it was likely the remnants of meteor showers that astronomers said would be highly active and visible in the skies of our region this time of year.

While we cannot speculate on issues of an apocolyptic nature, we can and do suggest you prepare for anything short of it.

Now back to our topic at hand... :)

Good job Brian and Ron!

The information that you provided was very informative. I wasn't able to listen live on Friday due to my work & break schedule; however, I did list to the recording this evening.

I look forward to episode #6.

Sincerely,
Ashley Rogers

Could you do a show on the LAFD's response plan to UFOs??

LAFD Media and Public Relations said...

Anonymous 5:37,

Thanks for the note. While the LAFD does indeed have general response plans for 'flying objects' (aircraft emergencies), there no specific response plans for those that may be deemed extraterrestial (or 'unidentified').

Though LAFD TalkRadio may not be be able to satisfy your interests, we're convinced that one or more shows on the BlogTalkRadio network might. To learn more, please visit their home page at:

...and please rest assured that if and when there is something official to talk about in regard to the LAFD and UFO's, we'll be certain to host a show!
