Shortly before 3:26 AM on Thursday, January 11, 2007, a 27 year-old male sustained fatal injury when he fell from the rooftop of a three-story apartment building under construction in the 11200 block of Huston Street in North Hollywood.
The man, believed to live nearby, was reportedly discharging fireworks from atop the structure with friends when he suddenly went missing. Peering from the rooftop, his friends discovered him on a sidewalk to the east side of 11250 Huston Street and called 9-1-1.
Despite the prompt response of Los Angeles Fire Department Paramedics, the man's injuries proved incompatible with life, and he was declared deceased at the scene.
No other injuries were reported.
The circumstances surrounding this incident are under investigation by the Los Angeles Police Department.
A positive identification of the dead man, as well as the exact cause, time and manner of his death will be determined by Coroner's officials.

I live at 11250 Huston Street. The whole event last night woke me up. The unfortunate man who died neither lived at 11250 nor fell from it. He fell from the construction site next door and I don't know what building he lived in, but it is not this one, I can assure you. His roommate came by and talked to me over the intercom thinking I was the manager (he does not live on-site), so I know this for certain.
Dear 11250 Huston,
We're sorry that you had to experience this tragic incident firsthand.
Thank you for the important clarification, which we are pleased to publish in the blog.
One of the beauties about a blog is the ability to enhance it as additional information becomes available.
Again, thanks for taking the time to share your experience.
Respectfully Yours in Safety and Service,

HMMM, Discharging fireworks (illegal in the city of L.A.)on top of a building under construction...., while we have been in a RED FLAG condition all week.......
He got what he deserved. The LAPD should arrest his friends for trespassing, using fireworks in the city and any/all other laws they broke that night !!!!
What a horrible thing to say bustee. You don't know this young man. NOBODY deserves to die in such a circumstance. Sure, he may have deserved to be arrested, but how dare you say he deserved to die. That's disgraceful!
My son was the friend and roomate of the boy that died and was there with him when this happened that. Men in their 20s do stupid things everyday and this tragedy will effect my family and son forever.
Rest In Peace Drew (Ryan). We loved you.
I knew this man through a friend. I spent Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner with him. I believe he was going to get into the military to serve his country. He was a good person.
