We are pleased to direct you towards a thought-provoking editorial by Fairmount Heights, MD Police Department Lt. Frank Borelli, a contributor to the popular Officer.com website:
America? or AMERICANS? (more...)
Please take a moment to absorb the inspiring sentiment of his article.
And then please plan to join us in Los Angeles on Monday morning, September 11, 2006 at 10:00 AM, when the men and women of local public safety agencies and their families will be joined by dignitaries at the permanent World Trade Center Memorial, located in 1700 Stadium Way in Elysian Park near Dodger Stadium.
All are welcome, and we need you there to stand with us - as an AMERICAN.

Don't forget the Memorial at Station 88 in Sherman Oaks, and the "official" City Memorial in North Hollywood Park.
Thanks LA City Nerd!
The memorial fountain in front of Fire Station 88 in Sherman Oaks and the public memorial monument and garden at North Hollywood Park (dedicated in memory of the Californian's who died in the terrorist events) each warmly welcome visitors on a casual basis year-round.
We however, are not aware of any organized events at either of those locations this Monday.
Therefore, we are strongly encouraging those in the Greater Los Angeles area to join us on Monday morning at the only local event (we are aware of) that will formally bring together State, regional and City of Los Angeles dignitaries and others to publicly remember the terrible events of five years past.
Those who cannot make it to the World Trade Center Memorial event in Elysian Park on Monday morning are encouraged to stop by there, or at the Sherman Oaks or North Hollywood sites at their convenience.
Again, thanks LA City Nerd, for allowing us to elaborate on some of the many ways that Los Angeles residents memorialize the events and impact of September 11, 2001.

While it appears a handful of formal and informal events are indeed planned for this weekend and on Patriot Day in and near Los Angeles (and not all with civic official or public safety agency involvement), the addition of a 6:00 PM gathering at the North Hollywood Park remains the only semi/official public gathering we have been made are aware of for Monday, September 11.
If someone has details about other local remembrance events in the City of Los Angeles open to the general public, we welcome you to post them in the comments section below. Please be certain to include a website or phone number for the public to call.
Respectfully Yours in Safety and Service,
